Tim Donar Exhibition

August 1 - 31, 2008
Photographer Tim Donar of Conway will exhibit a collection of fine art canvas prints of the Gardens in the Magnolia room the month of August. The work, spanning nearly four years, reflects seasonal images from
the Garden.

Donar is a member of the Conway League of Artists and
the Little Rock Outdoor Photography Club with works displayed at the Gardens' Gift shop, Petit Jean Mather Lodge, Conway Regional Surgery Center, ReMax of Conway, Something Brewing in Conway, and 5x7 shows in Austin, TX.

Along with garden photographs, images of Arkansas
scenery in black and white are included in the display.

Soils I, morning session: 9-11 a.m. Presenter: Bob Byers
Soils II, afternoon session: 1-3:30 p.m. Presenter: Larry Averill

The workshop is free of charge to GWG members or those previously registered as volunteers at the Gardens. The public will be subject to Garden Admission fees, which are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors. Space is limited. Register today by calling the Gardens’ administration office at (501) 262-9300 or (800) 366-4664. Don't forget to bring a sack lunch!

We'll celebrate Arkansas' team with specialty teas, gourmet scones, finger sandwiches, and an array of scrumptious desserts in the Magnolia Room or on the Garden veranda (weather permitting). Tea time is 3:00 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Cost is $15 for GWG members and $18 for non-members plus applicable tax. GWG Annual Plant Sale: An Earth and Epicurean Experience

October 10 - 12, 2008
Join us at the Gardens October 10-12 for a three day, one-stop shopping spree for all things garden-related. Over 25 nursery and garden vendors from across the state will once again turn the Gardens’ grounds into a garden “superstore” stocked with ornamental merchandise to help you design and create a beautiful fall or winter garden. Hundreds of hard-to-find plants, shrubs, and trees will be available for purchase, as well as an eclectic collection of garden-inspired treasures for those of you who love the thrill of unearthing that one-of-a-kind flea market find. Hours for the general public are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all three days. Members of the Gardens will be admitted free of charge. Regular Garden admission applies for non-members.

Fall Colors: A garden-inspired fundraiser for fashionistas

Join us on the Ellen Edmondson Great Lawn for an afternoon of fun and fashion. We'll host our first ever style show from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Baron d'Abila - Davis Tillman will emcee the luncheon/show, which will showcase an eclectic collection of women and children’s seasonal ensembles from the trendy boutiques of Barbara Jean’s, Sharon’s, Blue Lili, and Doodlebugs.

Lunch will be furnished by Special Touch Catering with entertainment by local keyboardist Clyde Pound.

Hypertufa Basics and Beyond the Basics Workshop

Join Kandy Jones, the Garage Sale Queen, for an afternoon of "playing in the mud" to create fabulous garden art. Jones will conduct a hypertufa workshop at the Gardens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Class cost is $90, including materials to make 2-3 objects. Class size is limited.
